Lets Help and Run for Africa

DEAL: P200(valued at 400) Lend a helping hand by running 3k, 5k or 10k in Rain4Africa: A Lifeline to Africa Run

Highlights

If the running bug has bitten you, why not match your passion for running with charity? Help
raise awareness about the worst famine that has hit East Africa the Horn of Africa by
participating in Rain4Africa, a run where all the proceeds go to feeding and alleviating
poverty in Africa via the World Food Programme.
The bright shirts symbolize the runners’ best intentions for Africa. The organizers suggest
that 3K runners wear an orange shirt, 5K runners, green and 10k runners wear blue. But if
you don’t feel like wearing those colors or you don’t have a shirt in that color, you can wear
any bright color to signify your support.
Unlike other runs where runners join for the prestige of bringing home the event’s shirt or
singlet, this run is truly for those who have the passion for running and those who want to
help without thinking of reward. When you reach that finish line, you’ll smile not only because
you have accomplished something for your health but also because your participation
means one less hungry child in Africa and more hope that they will make it through.

Being a runner, you know how much investment you make for your passion: thousands of pesos on running shoes every six months or so, more on sweat-wicking clothes, accessories plus hydration, supplements and gels. But have you stopped and thought about how much difference even a sliver of that investment could make in the life of a starving African child? Aesop said that every act of charity, however small, is never wasted. The next time you lace up, why don’t you run for charity? Help the Lifeline Foundation Support Team Inc., in their fight against famine in East Africa by running for Rain for Africa: A Lifeline to Africa Run.

The Lifeline Foundation Support Team Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit, and non-government organization based in Manila. The organization is made up of a group of educators, artists, medical professionals, architects, students, musicians, and engineers – who all have busy lives but have one thing in common: their dedication to providing relief for the oppressed and the empowering of the victim-minded. The bourgeoning team began as a local suicide prevention hotline in 2003, later on expanding to providing medical and dental assistance along with free food and clothing to several Mangyan tribes in Mindoro. As a response to a global responsibility, Lifeline Foundation Support Team went on a mission to Rwanda in 2005. It may be third world helping third world, but it proves that we have a lot to give.
